The federal government shutdown won’t keep District 8-5A teams from taking the field on Friday nights at Hood Stadium.

Ellison is scheduled to host Belton this Friday night at the stadium located on Fort Hood.  The game will go on as scheduled according to to Maj. Adam Weece, a public affairs officer for the 3rd Cavalry Regiment who is filling in for civilian personnel furloughed from the III Corps office, Fort Hood’s Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation.

The other remaining five football games involving Killeen Independent School District schools this season will not be affected by the federal government shutdown that was implemented on Tuesday.  KISD leases the stadium for roughly $4,500 per game in order to avoid Thursday night varsity football games.
