DALLAS, TX – The No. 7-ranked Tarleton State women’s golf team is currently in fourth place after day one of action at the DBU Women’s Classic, which is being held at The Golf Club of Dallas.
The TexAnns had to battle the elements of heavy rain and gusting winds on Monday, carding a first round score of 23-over par, 311. They head into tomorrow’s final round 14 shots behind St. Edward’s, who is leading the tournament with a score of nine-over par, 297.
Isabel Jimenez-Perea led the TexAnns on day one with a score of three-over par, 75 and currently sits in a tie for eighth place individually. Beatriz Prados is behind her in a tie for 14th place with a score of six-over par, 78.
Jessica Pickwick and Sharon Lau are both in a tie for 16th place with a first day score of seven-over par 79, while Maraea Durie rounded out the TexAnns’ scores on Monday with a 14-over par, 86. She is currently tied for 48th heading into Tuesday’s final round.
Should the weather cooperate Tuesday morning, the TexAnns will tee-off at 8:30 a.m.
