SCHULENBURG – Brody Malovets ran for 222 yards on 26 carries and Carson Skala rushed for 193 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries as Rogers ran away from Schulenburg for a 48-12 rout on Friday night.

One year after the teams combined for 145 points in the third highest-scoring 11-ma game in Texas high school history, the Eagles (7-0, 3-0 District 14-2A-II) limited the Shorthorns (5-2, 3-1) to only 265 total yards.

Colton Maiorka had a 1 yard scoring plunge and a 35 yard touchdown pass to P.J. Martin.  Jackson Sodek scored from 18 yards and Connor Layne pounced on a fumble in the end zone for Rogers.

Schulenburg was led by Javeon Lara with 165 rushing yards on 12 carries and a score.

Rogers will next host Jarrell on October 25 and the game can be heard on  Schulenburg goes into a bye this week but will travel to Jarrell on November 1.
