LAWTON, OK – The No. 7 Tarleton State women’s golf team carded an 11-over 299 on Monday and is currently in first place at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate for Women tournament that is being held at Ft. Sill Golf Club in Lawton, Okla.
The TexAnns are seven strokes ahead of Midwestern State (+18, 306) and 11 strokes up on Cameron (+22, 310) heading into tomorrow’s final round.
Isabel Jimenez-Perea tied a career-low with a three-under par 69 on Monday and heads into Tuesday’s final round in first place individually. The sophomore recorded five birdies on the day while shooting three-under on par four holes and one-under on par fives.
Beatriz Prados carded a four-over 76 on Monday and currently sits in a tie for eighth place, while both Sharon Lau andMaraea Durie shot five-over 77 to tie for 12th place going into tomorrow’s final round. Jessica Pickwick carded an eight-over 80 and is in a tie for 27th place.
Tarleton’s score of 299 is a season-best for the first round, as the team bettered the score by eight stokes. The TexAnn’s previous first round-low had been 307 that it recorded at the Angelo State Concho River Classic back on Sept. 16.
