umhbshieldlogoBELTON – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball player Cheyenne Dowdey has been named the American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 26th.

Dowdey’s record-breaking performance helped the Cru to a school-record 26 wins on the season, beating the 22 wins set by last year’s squad. Dowdey, a Hallettsville, Texas (Hallettsville H.S.), native, recorded 28 blocks in four matches played, breaking a 13-year-old school record for total blocks in a season.
