Temple_College_logo_(color)WACO – Temple College used good defense and clamped down on Kilgore College for a 54-41 victory Saturday in the McLennan Community College Classic at the Highlands.

Aricka Adams had 20 points and four assists for the Lady Leopards (2-0). Trei Torain added 14 points, 10 of those coming in the second half, and 13 rebounds for Temple College.

Macy De Gruy led Kilgore with 16 points, one of just four Lady Rangers (0-2) to score.

Temple head coach Kim Sebek attributed the good defense to a combination of changing formations and rebounding.

“We ran a matchup zone, a 2-3, and man-to-man,” Sebek told the Temple Daily Telegram, “We did a pretty good job on the defensive boards late in the game.”
