INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Tarleton State football team moved up two spots to No. 8 in this week’s NCAA Super Region Four Regional Rankings that were released Monday afternoon.
Tarleton, which currently owns a 6-2 overall record and 5-2 record against NCAA Division II teams, jumped ahead two spots and is now the second highest rated Lone Star Conference team in the Super Region Four Poll. Midwestern State (7-1) remained at No. 4 this week, while West Texas A&M (7-2) dropped four spots and rank No. 9 just behind the Texans.
The top four spots remained the same this week with Colorado State-Pueblo (9-0) keeping the top spot, Ohio Dominican (8-0) coming in at No. 2 and Saginaw Valley State (8-1) staying put at No. 3.
Indianapolis (8-1) jumped one spot to No. 5 this week, while Grand Valley State (7-2) moved ahead two spots to round out the top six. Chadron State (7-2) remained at No. 7 and Ferris State (6-3) made its regional poll debut at No. 10.
The top six teams from each four super regions following the final week of the regular season will advance to the NCAA Tournament, with the top two seeds in each super region receiving a first round bye.
The Texans, who claimed at least a share of the LSC title following its 45-20 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville this past Saturday, return home this weekend to host Southwestern Oklahoma. Kickoff between the Texans and Bulldogs is set for 2 p.m. in Stephenville.
