BELTON – Taylor Tucker had 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to a 106-79  win over Sul Ross on Thursday night in Belton, tying a nine-year-old Division III era school-record for points in a game.

Bridjai Chaney added 13 points with 12 rebounds, while Macy Moore scored 13 points grabbed eight rebounds and Alyssa Dean chipped in 16 points for The Cru, who shot 48.8 percent from the field.

Gabriela Aguilar had 12 points and six rebounds, Mercedes Orozco added 12 points and Ashley Ousley scored 11 points for the Lobos (1-5), giving up over 100 points for a second straight game and 2-game losing streak.

UMHB was down by 10 early in the game to Sul Ross at 20-10, then UMHB went on a 40-18 run to end the half with a 50-38 lead.

The Cru began pouring it on in the second half getting the lead up to 30 points and one time and reaching the century mark with just over three minutes left to play.

UMHB will host Howard Payne on Saturday at the Mayborn Center with tipoff set for 4:30 p.m.
