Police officer filmed tripping, pushing students after Texas High School girls soccer championship

A Georgetown Police officer was filmed tripping and pushing students as they rushed onto the field following Vandegrift High School’s victory at the state championship soccer game at Georgetown High School on Saturday, the Austin American Statesman reports.

The officer’s name has not yet been released. Police department spokesman Roland Waits said officials are investigating the incident to determine whether the officer should be placed on administrative leave. The officer was on duty when the incident happened during the state finals of a soccer tournament, Waits said.
