The McLennan Highlassies shot 318 to sit in third place after day one of the NJCAA National Championships at the par-72, 6,106-yard LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Daytona State is in first place with 290, followed by Seminole State (Fla.) in second with 302.

Aries Ramirez and Anya Anders both shot 78 to lead the Highlassies and are tied for 10th place.

Other McLennan scores: Fabiana Salazar, tied for 16th, 81; Kirby Sullivan, tied for 16th, 81; and Allison Flores, tied for 30th, 83.

Other team scores: Iowa Western, fourth, 322; Mesa, fifth, 324; Redlands, sixth, 341; John A Logan, seventh, 346; Tyler, eighth, 348; Western Texas, ninth, 349; Seminole State (Okla.), 10th, 351; Barton County, 11th, 357; Pima, 12th, 377; Des Moines Area, 13th, 389; Sandhills, 14th, 394; North Idaho, 15th, 407; and Bismarck State, 16th, 458. 

The tournament will continue with the second round Tuesday morning.
