BELTON – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team is ranked 23rd for the third consecutive week in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll.

The Cru totaled 206 points after totaling 268 points a week ago. Hope College jumped from third to first, totaling 1,551 points and 52 first-place votes. Second and third are now occupied by Emory University and California Lutheran University, both opponents of UMHB earlier this season. The Cru is the only American Southwest Conference school represented in the top 25; the University of Texas at Dallas is mentioned in the receiving votes category with 15 votes.

UMHB is currently 9-3 on the season, with its only losses coming from ranked opponents. UMHB went 4-1 last week with a conference-opening win over Sul Ross State University. The Cru’s only loss of the week came against No. 18 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. UMHB returns to play Tuesday in a 6 p.m. match against Hardin-Simmons University in Belton.
