UMHB Volleyball sweeps ASC Player of the Week Awards

BELTON – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball players Bianca Patterson and Kendra Feldmann have been named the American Southwest Conference Players of the Week for the week ending Sept. 22nd

Patterson, a senior middle hitter from Killeen, Texas (Harker Heights H.S.), was named the Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Cru to a 2-0 week in conference action as the Cru recorded 3-0 sweeps of Hardin-Simmons and Concordia Texas. Patterson hit an impressive .581 in two matches, driving down 19 kills with just one error on 31 attempts. She knocked down nine kills with no errors against Hardin-Simmons, then led the Cru with 10 kills against Concordia Texas. She leads the ASC in attack percentage with .304, totaling 104 kills on the season.

Feldmann, a junior libero from Arvada, Colo. (Ralston Valley H.S.), was a defensive anchor for UMHB last week, totaling 37 digs for a 6.2 digs per set average. She led both matches with 18 digs against Hardin-Simmons and 19 against Concordia. Feldmann tops the leaderboard in digs (260) and digs per set (5.2) in the ASC.

UMHB earned its 200th win as a full-time Division III member in a 3-0 sweep of Hardin Simmons on Tuesday, September 16th. The Cru is 11-3 on the season and 3-0 in conference play. UMHB returns to action on Tuesday, September 23rd in a 6 p.m. match at Howard Payne University in Brownwood. The Cru returns home on Friday, September 26th to face U.T.-Tyler at 7 p.m. and Saturday, September 27th in a 2 p.m. match against U.T.-Dallas.
