TEMPLE – The Temple Volleyball team closed out the first half of 17-5A volleyball play on Friday night with a victory over the Lady Mustangs of Manor in three games.
The Tem-Cats (2-4 17-5A) defeated Manor 25-11, 25-23, 25-22 to improve to 5-17 o the season and now have won two games in a row.
Temple was led by senior setter Angel Rivera who dished out 19 assist along with four serving aces and sophomore libero, Elaine Farbo, who picked up a team high 16 digs to go along with her three aces.
Jenna Green and Timmea Joiner-Hargrove each played the net well picking up eight kills apiece.
Temple won the first game easily by jumping on the Lady Mustangs early and not holding off in their 25-11 opening game win. Temple fell in to early five point deficits in games two and three however were able climb back in walk away with wins in games two and three.
Temple now stands one game out of a potential playoff berth at the halfway point in district play. Temple will travel to Elgin on Tuesday to face an Elgin team that defeated Temple in five games earlier this season.
