LONGVIEW – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team earned its seventh consecutive win with a 3-0 sweep of LeTourneau Friday evening in Longview. The win improved the Cru to 15-3 on the season and 7-0 in American Southwest Conference play while LeTourneau moved to 6-12 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
UMHB took control early with a 25-15, 25-15, 25-18 win over the YellowJackets. Abby Voskuil led the Cru with 11 kills while Bianca Patterson added nine and Kendall Pye had seven. Shelby Prather led UMHB with 20 assists, followed by 12 from Pye and 7 from Natasha Evans. On the defensive side, Kendra Feldmann had a team-high nine digs en route to a team-total 42. UMHB recorded nine team blocks, led by Cheyenne Dowdey‘s two solo blocks and three block assists. UMHB totaled 40 kills for a .289 hitting percentage and limited the YellowJackets to 22 kills and a -.010 percentage.
The Cru returns to action tomorrow in a 2 p.m. match at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall.
