PINEVILLE, La. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s soccer team routed Louisiana College 7-0 Friday afternoon in Pineville. UMHB improves to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play while the Wildcats moved to 0-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
UMHB grabbed an early lead when Cameron Shivers found the back of the net in the 17th minute. The Cru held that lead until the 43rd minute when Irelie Riggle scored to give UMHB a 2-0 lead at the half. The Cru extended that lead with a five-goal second half with goals from Riggle, Sarah Rempe, Kristen Hoelscher, Emily Boardman and Julianne Kovacik. Kathryn Parker, Ashley Stenack and Hoelscher all recorded assists for the Cru. UMHB totaled 29 shots in the contest and limited the Wildcats to just three.
Courtney Craig earned the win in the goal for the Cru, recording two saves. UMHB returns to action tomorrow in a 4 p.m. match against East Texas Baptist University in Marshall.
