WACO – The No. 4 Baylor equestrian team (3-0) will take on No. 2 Oklahoma State (1-0) Saturday at 10 a.m. to open Big 12 competition for the 2014-15 season at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.

The Bears are coming off their sixth-consecutive capture of the Willis Invitational Championship Sept. 26-27 where BU picked up wins over SMU, UT Martin and Fresno State. The Cowgirls won their first meet of the season against South Dakota 16-4, Sept. 27 at home.

“We have been practicing, and we are ready to go. This is our first Big 12 meet, and we are excited to put our full team in action and see how we stack up,” said Baylor Head Coach Ellen White.

The teams met three times last year with each team taking a win at its respective home sites, but the Cowgirls took the upper hand by winning the Big 12 championship in Waco March 29, 2014, with a 10-9 win over Baylor.

“We rode well at the Willis Invitational, but with OSU ranked at No.2, that is definitely much more competition for our team, and we don’t have room for error,” said White. ” We have got to be on our game. We do have the girls that are ready for it. I am not worried about them; they are just going to have to bring it.”

Admission is free to the public and fans who can’t be in attendance can follow the action on Twitter by following @BaylorEQ and @BUEQCoachWhite.
