TYLER – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team grabbed a 3-1 win over the University of Texas at Tyler Saturday afternoon in Tyler. The win improved the Cru 19-5 on the season and 12-2 in American Southwest Conference play while the Patriots fell to 13-10 overall and 12-2 in conference action.
Lauren Powell led the Cru with 11 kills while Abby Voskuil added 10 and Kendall Pye had nine. Pye led the Cru with 27 assists with Shelby Prather adding 19. Defensively,Kendra Feldmann recorded a team-high 27 digs for UMHB, with Powell adding 20 and Voskuil recording 16. UMHB recorded 14.5 team blocks, led by Cheyenne Dowdey‘s four solo blocks and seven block assists. UMHB totaled 53 kills on 155 attempts for a .219 average while the Patriots hit 38 kills on 154 attempts for a .097 percentage.
UMHB returns to action Friday, October 31st in a 7 p.m. match against East Texas Baptist University at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.
