WACO – The McLennan Blue team shot 289 and the McLennan Orange team shot 296 to sit in first and third place, respectively, after day one of the Dr Pepper Classic held at the Twin Rivers Golf Club. The tournament is following the Maxwell scoring format. Rather than combing the four lowest player scores at the end of each round, the four lowest scores for each hole are used to calculate the team score.
Hutchinson (Kansas) also shot 289 and is in second place after the tie breaker.
Bruce Popp shot 71 to lead the Highlanders and is tied first place individually with Lewis Schenk of Hutchinson.
