BROCK – No. 1 Glen Rose rallied past No. 4 Brock 18-25, 20-25, 28-26, 25-20 and 16-14 on the road to move to 34-5 on the season and win the District 11-3A title.
Sophie Bozarth (4, right) had the match-winning dump to go with 52 assists, 5 kills, 5 digs and 2 blocks for Glen Rose. Cheyenne Lytle’s dominant senior season continued with 28 kills, four assists, three digs, two aces and a block. Kelsey Potter had 21 kills, 4 digs and 2 blocks, Olivia Banz added 5 kills, 2 digs and a block. Madi Gibson had 2 kills, 2 blocks and 2 digs, Meredith Odom put down 5 kills and Sabrina Watson added 6 digs and an ace for the Lady Tigers.
“It was a tougher match than the first time we beat them,” said coach Sandy Langford told the Glen Rose Reporter. “We made a lot of errors that prevented us from taking control early, but we were in a lot better shape than they were. We overcame all the unforced errors, but we can’t do that in the playoffs. The girls fought for the district title for sure.”
The Lady Tigers begin their postseason journey early next week.
