STEPHENVILLE – TaShawn Mabry‘s offensive explosion over the last two games has earned him the LSC Player of the Week award for the second time in his career.
Mabry recorded the best offensive week of the season for No. 15 Tarleton State as the senior led the Texans to a pair of wins over West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico.
His week started Wednesday night when he poured in 12 points over the final nine minutes to lift Tarleton past West Texas A&M in Wisdom Gym. He finished with a season-high 23 points on 6-11 shooting from the floor with eight rebounds and three assists.
Mabry followed up his heroic efforts while a career-best effort Saturday at ENMU. He scored a career-high 31 points on 13-19 shooting from the floor. He became the 17th Texan to score at least 31 points in a game in the 27-year tenure of head coach Lonn Reisman.
For the week, he scored 54 points for an average of 27.0 points per game to go along with 11 rebounds, five assists and three blocks.
Mabry and the No. 15 Texans will be in action Wednesday night against McMurry at 7:30 p.m. in Wisdom Gym before the hitting the road Saturday to resume Lone Star Conference action against Texas A&M-Commerce at the Field House.
