The Temple boys basketball team made a third quarter rally to pull close to Waco on Tuesday night but in the end, Waco held on for a 59-49 win over the Wildcats in district action at Wildcat Gym.

Logan Hicks capped a 12-0 run by the Wildcats with a 3-pointer to pull Temple within 43-40 with 2:12 remaining in the third quarter. Waco took a 45-40 lead into the fourth but Temple found the going tough to continue their scoring run and held off the Wildcats the remainder of the way.

Logan Hicks led the Wildcats with 13 points while Marquese Whitfield chipped in eleven.

With the loss, Temple fell to 4-7 in district play and have one game remaining with Elgin next Tuesday at Wildcat Gym.
