MESA, Arizona – The McLennan Highlassies shot 322 Monday to sit tied for fifth place after day one of the NJCAA Women’s Golf Championships at the par-72, 6,155-yard Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona.

Seminole State is in first place with 303, followed by Daytona State in second with 304 and Mesa in third with 313.

Fabiana Salazar shot 77 to lead the Highlassies and is tied for eighth place.

Other McLennan scores: Lydia Traylor, tied for 23rd, 81; Savannah Moody, tied for 23rd, 81; Gianti Mahardhika, tied for 36th, 83 and Ashlyn Hendricks, tied for 46th, 87.

Other team scores: Redlands, fourth, 319; Western Texas, tied for fifth, 322; Tyler, seventh, 338; Rend Lake, eighth, 349; Iowa Western, ninth, 353; John A Logan, 10th, 356; Barton, 11th, 361; Sandhills, 12th, 363; Des Moines, 13th, 368; Pima, 14th, 370; and Bismarck State, 15th, 438.

The tournament will continue with one round each day through Thursday.
