UWF: Austin Inferno down Corpus Christi Divas in OT

ROBSTOWN – The Austin Inferno got their first win in franchise history with a 68-61 overtime win over the Corpus Christi Divas in Ultimate Women’s Football action on Saturday night in Robstown.

The win puts the Inferno (1-1) in fourth place in UWF Week 2 standings.

“We played so hard and we did not give up! We deserved this!” Inferno defensive end Janelle Guy said. “I couldn’t be more proud. Let’s keep this momentum up!”

The Inferno return home for a Week 3 match-up with division rival Houston Vanity (0-2) at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at SoccerZone Lakeline in Cedar Park.  The Vanity remain winless with a 78-24 loss to defending UWF champions San Antonio Texas Legacy in Conroe on Saturday night.

“I love that our ladies have so much heart and passion for this game,” UWF President Marc Lucio said. “I also love the way all of our teams get along with each other. One Team, One League, One Family.”

Tickets for Houston Vanity at Austin Inferno are $10 pre-sale, $15 at the door, kids 10 and under are free.
