ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Texas Rangers have purchased the contract of Round Rock Express OF Willie Calhoun , the club announced Tuesday afternoon. The 22-year-old is seeking his Major League debut in what is his first career callup to The Show.

Calhoun began the year with the Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers before being traded to the Rangers organization in exchange for RHP Yu Darvish in a deadline deal on July 31. The outfielder appeared in 29 games with the Express, batting .310 with three doubles, a triple, eight home runs and 26 RBI. He set an Express record on September 3 with eight RBI, including the first walkoff grand slam in Round Rock franchise history.

Calhoun is currently ranked as the second-best prospect in the Rangers organization. He was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2015 June Draft.
